It seems the RIAA has agreed to end their campaign of litigation against filesharers in return for an agreement with major ISP's in the United States. The agreement calls for a graduated response, with warnings issued by the ISP's themselves. This deal was brokered by New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, and reported by the Wall Street Journal.
Ars Technica has confirmed the report and have their own article here: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20081219-no-more-lawsuits-isps-to-work-with-riaa-cut-off-p2p-users.html
