to me this shows how, with the right 'encouragement', government representatives will do as big business wants. it also shows that with enough money, big business 'desires' will always be given greater priority over what the people want and what is right. ordinary citizens don't have any say in the matters or any hope in hell of being truly 'represented'. what the 'representatives' forget is that they are elected into positions of leadership to do just that, ie LEAD! not to dictate and certainly not to do what is right just for businesses but to take a balanced view on what is right for the majority, based on ALL arguments and evidence available! coming down on the side of one industry, in this case the entertainment industry, using loss of revenue as the reason, will do more economic damage to a lot more industries if people are stopped from using the internet under a '3 strikes' system, such as is used in France. embracing the internet, giving people what they want in a sensible way, at sensible prices must be favorite. if the service offered is good, it will be used. if not, it wont. competing in a better way than is currently available, instead of creating and being able to create monopolies, must be the way forward.
