Before u attempt any form of cleaning, I would suggest u make sure that the drivers r installed properly 4 the drive. Have u installed any other devices recently? It’s not often the case 2 have the lens cleaned. I think u should try 2 re-install the drivers before attempting a clean.
If u or the person u got the device from smoke then this can cause big problems 4 any electrical systems. The more u smoke the more dust that is produced. The dust and other chemical particles get attracted 2 heat (resisters) and then the resisters end up burning out because they can’t do their job and convert unwanted power 2 heat. Also all the crap can get on 2 the lens. If smoke is the cause then u will need a cleaning solution.
U must be very careful when cleaning any form of lens. U should use the proper lens cleaning solutions and applicators. On the other hand we don’t all live in a perfect world so go ahead and give it a go. If u have a hand operated air pump such as the one’s u can get from RS Electronics or compressed air, use those first. If u apply the Pro-pan then make sure u do not apply very much pressure with a lint free cloth. If u scratch the lens u can just through the unit in the bin!!!! And do not try 2 remove any coloured film from the lens.
