I have a AVI video file in which the video is smooth but the audio stutters just about every second. I ripped the audio portion out and saved it as a WAV file. Examining the WAV file (first in Nero and then in Audacity) shows ~1 second of sound followed by ~1 second of silence! Additionally, the audio that is heard is sped up (the talking chipmunks effect), which I believe I can easily manipulate by transposing or changing the pitch. The real problem is removing these silent gaps that occur 20-30 per minute in a 50+ minute video. I can manually remove these gaps but that is a lot of work.
Can anyone tell me of an application that will be able to remove the silent gaps and how to go about it?
Thanks.
