Remember to Verify after burning with 411s

Burn several disk today w/o problems (P4 1.6A, 512MB Rambus, W2K Pro).

After I burnt another Sky 4x +R @ 2.4x (FS07 firmware), Nero (60019) tell me that it cannot access my original files at harddisk (IMPOSSIBLE)

I tried to check the files at harddisk & at +R using McAfee VALIDATE.EXE, result is:
The +R files are readable at 411s, but COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
I burned another +R again, the result is the same (same 32 bit CRC result).
Moreover, both of these +R disks cannot be read at my another Pioneer 116 DVDRom.

I reboot my PC and burn another +R again, this time is OK.

So, remember to check your files after burn before delete your original files in harddisk.

Validate result of the original files in my harddisk:

Actually I didn’t think about that… will do CRC32 next time…

Thanks !

The Nero verify function has been known to be unreliable, and sometimes just nonsense. Sometimes it seems to not like certain file types.
Suggest doing error scans with Kprobe, if that’s bad then you may have a problem. sounds like a crappy burn

Hello!
I use also a program which calculates MD5 hash from original file and the burned one…
bye

is there a good program that will do a checksum of the data on the harddrive and then compare it to whats on the dvdr?

also is there a way to check video in a way like this…

i still use kprobe to scan but want somethign else to keep me at ease that the data on the disc is atleast there when i first burn it!

I use Advanced Checksum Verifier

Thanks that program should work great! its nice to finaly find a program that has a GUI for MD5

would be nice it if worked easier like quicksfv! but i have been looking for a program with a MD5 gui for a few weeks now! thanks!

would be nicer if it was freeware but oh well!

Yeah, but what about a GUI for poor windows users ?:wink:

Try CDCheck which I have been using for sometime and is pretty reliable. Also has all the functions mentioned in the thread.

Yep -thibouille-

There is even a GUI for w32
