Registration Key Problems

I purchased DVDFab Platinum and received the Registration Key via email.

I cannot get the Registration Key to work. When I double click the Registration Key file as they instruct me to, I get the following error: WINDOWS CANNOT OPEN THIS FILE.

I emailed DVDFab for help, but they sent me the same instructions as before.

Now they won't even respond to my help requests.

Does anyone know how to get this Registration Key to work properly?

I hate to say it, but if I cannot get it to work, then I must cancel the transaction through my credit card. I think its sad when you spend $80 on a program then they start ignoring you when it doesn't work.

Sorry for my attitude, but I'm a little pizzed off. Especially since I just paid $80 for something that hasn't worked yet.

Hi Sharkin,

Instead of double clicking on the registration key try doing a “Right Click” on the registration key, then select “Open With” and select “Chose Program”. This should open up a window with a list of programs in it; see if DVDFab is listed. If it is not listed then click on the browse button and browse to where you installed DVDFab to (normally this would be “C:\Program Files\DVDFab Platinum 4”) then select “DVDFabPlatinum.exe”.

This should install the KEY for you.

By the way make sure that you save the registration file to you hard drive first.

It worked to a point. I got the screen where it said it upgraded DVDFab, then it restarted. Upon restart it’s the same free trial program. None of the Mobile Extras work. I checked the “about” area, it says Free Trial as well.

Still haven’t heard from DVDFab.

What operating system are you using? Are you logged in as an administrator? Depending upon the software that is installed I have found that sometimes the other software will block writing to the registry. You might also do a clean uninstall of DVDFab and trying a reinstall.

I know when I did mine, I sent it to my desktop first. Then upgraded my version of Fab and put it on my desktop then double clicked the key icon and then rebooted and it worked. Hope this helps. ~ Mike

Where did you purchase DVDFab for $80? It is listed on http://www.dvdfab.com/index.htm for less than $50.

I followed the clean uninstall instructions. Re-downloaded the program.

Guess what?

update: the trial version worked much better. the plat version doesn’t open css!

The only difference between the Trial version and the full version is One is registered and the other is not, please check all settings in common settings

For reasons that are hard to explain, there is a Non CSS version. Always download from DVDFab.com because the Non CSSn is on DVDFab.net. Better yet download on the links that fengtao posts in the [B][U]Read First[/U][/B] section on this forum. Then install over the Non CSS. Look for the 4.0.6.2 release.
