I just installed a Pioneer bdc-202, and I have successfully played Letters from Iwo Jima in BD.
I just got 28 Weeks later in BD from Netflix and InterVideo WinDVD tells me that the disc has been coded for Region A only, and that I need to play it on a Region A player.
OK, so I go to Device Manager, and the properties for this drive tell me it’s Region 1… Region 1 would be for plain DVDs right? Region A is for N. America BD, right? I do not see an option to select Blu-Ray regions.
Did I not install the right software or driver for this drive and thus only get the DVD region selector?
I tried the latest Slysoft AnyDVD and it says:
Summary for drive F: (AnyDVD 126.96.36.199)
PIONEER BD-ROMBDC-202 1.01 07/05/15PIONEER

ERROR processing Blu-Ray disc!
What do I do? ?? I have guests coming over in an hour and need to resolve this. I hope I don’t need to go to blockbuster and get the regular DVD version…
