iam having cd-Rom in my computer.i was changed it as SAMSUNG DVD writer(IDE). but it is not detecting…even icon is not displaying in MY COMPUTER!!
what changes i have to do for make it detect???

system OS : windows XP prof

processer: c 2 deo

mother board: intel 945

cable from mother board to dvd writer id :IDE

Sounds like it wasn’t installed correctly. Tell whoever installed it to go over all the connections.

Bingo, good advice as usual from Dialysis 1.

First off, see if the burner is recognized in your bios.
If unfamiliar with this, reboot and as soon as the pc starts, depress the appropriate key repeatedly and you’ll boot into the bios.
[B]Delete[/B] and[B] F2[/B] are two of the most common “keys”, but depending on your bios supplier, it may be F3, CTRL+ALT+DEL, etc.

If you’re comfortable, open the case and check all the connections as Dialysis 1 suggested. It’s not a bad idea to unplug and replug all connections.
