Recording to slow gives more C1 read errors

Liteon 32125 @ 48125 VS06
DataTrack CD-R80

Record 4 speed:

Record 8 speed:

Record 16 speed:

Record 32 speed:

As you can see recording at 16 and 32 speed almost gives the same result.
Maybe someone will test different firmware with the same speed and media?
Who knows, maybe this will give some interesting results.

The tool wses.zip can be downloaded here
http://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/~noe/LiteOn/
Thanks alexnoe for the link

Tried VS02?

#3

Some crap media can’t be recorded at too low speeds. This is normal.

#4

Some newer media types will not work well at lower speeds.

I found it very interesting to get the best result out of cheap media.
For my media “DataTrack CD-R80” burning at 16 speed with VS06 gives me the best result.

I have changed the scale to make comparison easier.
All burned cds read with the Liteon 32125W WBS4:

40125S ZSOK

32125W WBS4

40125W WS05

48125W VS02

48125W VS06

Hmz, maybe time for me to try out wses soon as well.

How do you make screenshots in DOS? As this program only works in pure DOS? and not in a command prompt box in w2k/xp?

Downloaded wses.zip here:
http://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/~noe/LiteOn/
contains wses.exe and some crap.
but also st.exe to make the screenshot.

Yes I have got it some days ago…

But I was to lazy to reboot and boot from a DOS floppy then :stuck_out_tongue:

Alex, can you take that file off your site?

as one of the condition that this file is leaked is that no public downloading should be possible…

thanks…

OK, until this is made clear, I remove wses.zip from my site.

Is there any problem with this program? I speak of any important reasons not to allow people doing their own quality checks of discs.

Its was made very clear that this program should not be made for public downloads, by the person who tossed it to us.

The big problem with this program is that CDR media and burner makers are not happy. They do NOT like to enpower the consumers, its in their best interest to keep us in the blind…

BTW, its ok to use this proggy, email it, publiclly discuss it, discuss the result from using it. Just don’t put it up on a website…
(the term under which is got released)
