Update: Plextor 121032s and Safedisc 2 copies...

Interceptor wanted to react on our previous newsposting about plextor & safedisc 2 copying, so he used our newssubmit to tell us his story...

I recently flashed by Plextor 121032s to firmware1.2. I have borrowed an original copy of Settlers IV which has Safedisc2 Protection on it. I used Clonecd and the following options to get it to work

Read SubChannel Data From Data Tracks

Fast Error Skip(read retries 3/error correction none)

I read the disc @ 4 speed and write @ 4 speed. I used a rw to save making another coaster

I tested it in the writer and it works great. My UltraPleX40max tries to read the disc, but I cancelled the process, and the Pioneer x16 DVD IDE rejected the disc straight away. So I hope from this article you will see that Plextor are the good guys, and are not as bad as some of you think. Now if they can bring out a new firmware for my ultrapleX40max that will read Safedisc2 then I will be even happier. Even better still if they could alter the firmware so that when you create a SD2 backup it will work in any drive and not just the writer.
