Recoding data files

I want to write MPG files to DVD, and Nero 6.3.15 Recode allows me to select & queue MPG files, but the “next” button is greyed. I see elsewhere where other methods and software are more suitable for (e.g.) writing copies of captured video, but if this is true, why does Recode allow me to queue MPG files??

As I investigate, I note that there are several types of MPEG. Is Nero Recode expecting a specific type?

Thats an interesting point. I’ve never been able to get the Data File option to do anything, only the other option for importing the DVD folder.
Does anyone know how the other actually works?
