Recently, I seem to get 20-30% burn failure or verification failure.

The code on the inside is 6223 506-R D11740, the one further out is ZDF076-DVR-J47C1 (or 'I 'on that last one - hard to tell).

Disc info is:

Has anyone had bad burns recently? I’d guess it’s not my burner (LITE-ON DVDRW LH-18A1P) - it’s fairly new but not too new so it’s been ‘worn in’ and isn’t knackered - burn speed is 6x on a 18x capable drive and there’s a good 10-15GB 15 free space on the drive (80GB HDD) - apparently not enough can cause probs.

So yeah, what d’yall think?

Where these media are made in ?
Here there are many complains about MII batches last months,so many retailers reduce price 20% instead of MIT batches-(Of coursethis moment, everyone here prefer buying Verbatim DVD media, but stock is finished day by day,so back to MIT is always good choice)

#3

Bad typo…meant this moment everyone is happy here, with TY Verbatims sold 25% cheaper than TY “That’s” brand retail discs.-But go back to MIT Verbatims will be soon, as stock is finished

#4

These discs are Made in India.
Verbatim Made in India is not exactly known for consistency.
Sadly, German retailers do not reduce the price on the inconsistent (not to say inferior) MII batches. :frowning:

If the next Verbatims are Made in Taiwan by CMC, then it should be good media too.
And the That’s media is not really expensive if you compare the prices to the prices in the rest of Europe or even Japan!

#5

I’m UK, just so you know.

Is there any way of knowing where the discs you are buying online come from before you buy?

#6

Yes. Send a mail to the shop.
They are usually friendly and will answer.

#7

check out this site-according to them CMC’s are not good at all.

#8

I’m sorry, but this website is inaccurate. It generalises too much and is outdated :frowning:
I would happily prefer ANY CMC over RITEKG05, for example.
RITEK G05 is one of the worst discs that can be bought (a weapon of mass storage destruction), it has major degradation issues.

#9

LOL @ that.

#10

I don’t agree with that at all :disagree:…OK so they may not produce beautiful quality scans, but TRTs and stability have always been good for me.

Except for one batch of printable CMC MAG. M01s, standalone compatability for me is good too.

I’m with Evilboy about that website, I’d rather ask opinions of CDF members.

So true. And so funny

#11

Were they Infiniti branded printables, Arachne?

#12

Spot on. The only Infiniti SL media my (tolerant) standalone has a problem with. I may try them at 8x and see if that helps things.

#13

So it’s only one batch that didn’t play, and the others are fine?

#14

Yep. Even the TDK M01’s are fine

#15

 - the Infiniti’s must have been really bad then

#16

Hehehe probably, but 8x may improve things

Back on topic…@groovemeister - regarding emails, if you’re thinking of buying from SVP, email Steve, I’m sure he’d give you the info you need.

I have not had infiniti brand printables, but I just got a batch of MCC 004 from them and they have come out very good for the 5~6 that I have done so far.
infiniti brand MCC 004 8x and 12x
