Below are two Web Links concerning the use of Brasso to fix scratched DVDs. I have used Brasso to remove scratches from DVDs and CDs and I can attest that it works and on factory pressed commercially manufactured DVDs without any problems. If used “correctly†it will remove scratches and not do any adverse harm to the DVD/CD. Suggest before knocking the use of Brasso that you actually try it and see.
The recordable blank DVD-R/DVD+R are a different animal in that the protective finish is not as durable as the factory pressed commercially manufactured DVDs and I agree that Brasso might be a little too abrasive to use on these DVDs and caution must be used in removing scratches from these particular DVD/CD.
PS- Concerning A Software Scratch Remove Program.
I believe someone has to be very naive to believe that a software program is somehow going to remove scratches from a DVD/CD. There must be a lot more gullible folks running around the universe than I was originally lead to believe.
