It appears that many Forum members are reporting an increased problem reading numerous DVDs and getting CRC Read Errors when using AnyDVD to decrepit and remove copy protections.
Many of these titles that Forum members are reporting as problematic I have used AnyDVD-CloneDVD and made backup copies without any problems.
I use a Lite-On SOHD-167T DVD-ROM as my “Reader†and a NEC ND-3500 as my “Burnerâ€. I also ensure that I have the latest version of AnyDVD-CloneDVD and it is a rarity that I ever have problems making backup copies of my DVDs.
It is know fact that some DVD “Reader†hardware devices are better than others. The Lite-On SOHD-167T DVD-ROM and other Lite-On DVD-ROMs (163/165/166) are noted for their ability to read data with out errors. Perchance could the problem that many Forum members are experiencing reading the DVD with AnyDVD be related to the poor “Reading†ability of their particular DVD “Reader†hardware device. If so what steps can Forum members take to improve the “Reading†ability of their “Reader†hardware device.
I also remember in the early days of CloneCD that Elaborate Bytes had a list of “Preferred†CD Burners available so that customers were made aware of a particular CD Burners “Specifications†that allowed the full potential of the CloneCD software program. Perchance could a similar list of DVD Burners be made available to customers.
I welcome any comments that you might have on this topic.
