Question for 851S

I am using Nero for burning DVD.
But it alway hold at 100% with orange light.(only red light while burning from 1-99%)

I am burn with 4x.

using p4 2.6c, 1024 ram, sata hardisk.

Thx for help.

Have you tried a different burning application yet?

What media are you using?

That is very low quality media.
Try something better.

That is an actual media code. No name specified for Manuf. ID, and a “001” specified for type ID. It’s an actual media code that’s popped up a bit, but it’s a bad media code. Very bad media code. IIRC, it’s made by some shady Hong Kong company, which, well, might explain why you have it, given what you put down for your location. :wink:

This is poor media and the 851S is almost certain to not like it. But “holding at orange” is usually not a symptom seen with the drive not liking the media, though…

I will keep my eyes to buy some better.
But the cover of this DVD is support 1x-8x…

So I have no clue if I got cheat. I bought those in Feb.
May be just start 8X DVD in Hong Kong at that time. So many fake brand made those low quality Disc…

So may I ask which brand of disc you guys use and how much are those?

(I bought those around HK$8~9 each, it’s around US$1~1.1)

My personal picks would be:
Taiyo Yuden (TY), Mitsubishi (MCC), Maxell (MXL), Ricoh or Ritek.
(in that order).

I agree. TY is the best, and MCC seems to be an excellent followup… Others don’t quite have the same “assuredness” of quality over the long term of purchasing discs.
