Question about JLMS XJ-HDD166S (Lite-On DVD-ROM)

Just a quick question. I have a black JLMS XJ-HD166S and the drive opens kinda funny. I can’t really think of a way to explain it. It starts out straight, gets crooked for a bit, and then is straight by the time it’s fully out. So if you could freeze it when it was open halfway, the extending part would be horizontally crooked (the end pointing a direction that isn’t directly in front of the drive). It’s not a big angle of skew, but it’s noticeable. It’s like it’s hitting something inside that pushes it out of alignment.

Now the drive works fine (to my knowledge), I just want to know from other people who have the drive if it’s normal for it to open that way.

I would say its not normal, mine opens straight all the way.

Same here

It’s a very subtle thing, just for a split second when the drive is like 3/4 open and the angle it changes is like 2 degrees.
