Quality burn at high speed?

So it seems that I have the value line of the Taiyo Yuden DVD-R media and I’ve been writing to them at whatever speed the program (k3b in Linux) decides “AUTO” is. I believe these discs are rated at 4x so I’m wondering do I run a risk of losing data?

Is there any way to check these discs out to make sure they’ll be ok? I did run a data verification of the files written to the disc after the burn process and they were fine then…

You could download Nero CD-DVD Speed (free) and run a quality check on the finished disc.
