Quality backups

Hi all,
I’m sure this sort of thing comes up often enough but I haven’t found the answer yet, so I’ll just ask.

All I want to do is take my dvd collection and make good backups. I know that since most of my dvd’s are copy protected, I probably have to remove that in doing so but that’s fine with me. Also, most movies won’t fit on 1 DVD5, so the ability to split the output onto 2 discs is a must – preferrably auto-splitting at the layer switch.

Is there anything out there that is simple, inexpensive, and produces high quality results?

The answer to your question is yes.
Please use the search facility and read the sub forums carefully, you will find the answers you are looking for.
You will require a good DVD drive, some software, some of which is free and several others that are good but you have to purchase them. Everyone has their favourites so it comes down to your pocket and expectations.
Good quality media is also rquired.

I’ve opted for the AnyDVD and CloneDVD approach and so far the results are great!!!
