Purpose of writing patterns Z-CLV and P-CAV?

P-CAV = Partial constant angular velocity.
Z-CLV = Zoned constant linear velocity.

I am not saying that they are bad, but just asking about what their occasional advantage is.
I would appreciate somebody providing some clues.

Only a theory, but Z-CLV is easy to handle. You can use one laserpower in every zone, with P-CAV you had to adjust very often in the CAV-zone to get optimal quality because the speed increase constantly

But I doubt that one drive-manufacturer adjust the laserpower so elaborate
