Had a good look around this site before i posted, if i missed a post regarding my question , feel free to delete/move

I think this is a newish drive and there is no updated firmware out yet (well none that i can see , from official site+) i d/l the flash utility+txt file , but cant see any updates

also been trying out media for this drive (first time buyer+user of dvd burner) the philips dvdr+ 8x that came with the drive worked fine (as expected) tried bulkpaq 4x and it worked fine , but i cant seem to find any alternate media to record at the 8x , infinity 8x only burns at 4x.

Has anyone any recommendations to media i could try and if there is any firmware i could try?

Thanks for your time

Latest firmware version is probably P1.2. Mitsubishi (Verbatim) 4x and 8x media should work @8x, maybe 4x media by Taiyo Yuden and Ricoh too.

BTW can you post the ‘Media Code’-Block information of that Philips 8x disc using DVD Identifier?

Where? (I meant that you should paste the info here cause I’m interested in how the media code looks for Philips 8x media.)

Thanks! I thought Philips shipped its burners with their 8x “Philips.081” media but that is just standard 4x Ricoh media so obviously not
