Great advice from everyone and I second SJ’s warm welcome.
I was just about to post a link to compare the products, but I see my good friend signals beat me to it.
A few additional comments and they’re just my opinions.
I recommend Platinum…no question.
It’s only $10 difference, ie., Gold $39.99 vs. Platinum $49.99.
Only Platinum contains what I believe are the best and most useful modes.
Customize Mode is my favorite…with this mode you can copy the main movie, but configure the disc to your choice. You can select any additional features, audio tracks, subtitles, etc, etc…or not, but the choice is there.
Platinum also has Clone Mode. This will create a bit for bit copy of the original (the only exception being the copy will be decrypted rather than encrypted…as in no active copy protection).
It also has other modes such as Customize Split and such.
Merge Mode can be very useful.
I never use Customize Split, but as they say…different strokes…
Also, never say never…like I just did…
I didn’t think I’d ever be converting to an Ipod.
I never really wanted one. My adult children thought otherwise.
One Christmas they said, “Dad, you need this”.
Honestly, I love the thing. I can patch it to my home stereo. When we travel I can patch it to car and portable stereos, patch it to hotel tvs or dvd players and watch whenever and whatever movies we want.
The thing holds a gazillion songs and I keep about 15 or so movies on it at any one time. Since the movies are already converted and on various hdds, it takes only seconds to re-sync the Ipod and change flicks.
Both Gold and Platinum will work with Mobile and you can add Mobile later if you wish. Platinum will offfer more configurability in this regard.
In any event, enjoy the product of your choice.
I think it’s the best software of its kind, bar none.
