PS3 hack case: GeoHot lawyers speak, CA judge denies Sony.

[newsimage]http://static.rankone.nl/images_posts/2011/01/hZMENO.jpg[/newsimage]It has been a rough week for George “GeoHot” Hotz and the Fail0verflow team, as they’ve been hit with legal action from Sony for their contributions to the PS3 hacker community by figuring out and posting the “root key” that can be used to sign custom applications for the popular console. The guys won’t retreat without a fight, however, and the legal team that Hotz has hired to represent his side of the case released a statement to the public on Friday proclaiming that this isn’t about their client, but rather the effect that a case like this could have in individual property rights.

If this TRULY was about the removal of the ‘Install Other OS’ then he would not have been such a willing and active participant BEFORE this happened. A little side note for Sony Legal, eh.

As mad as I am about them removing it, I am not stupid nor ignorant of GH’s intentions.

This is about two main factors; the ‘mining’, for lack of a better term, of CC info across the PSN transactions; and the ability to attract underage users with his(and yours if your using it) “amazing gaming skillz”. Im never impressed. Its obvious you cant do that across a whole zone/map/field.

George, you have become a blemish to TRU haks everywhere…at least those that still have a functional logic circuit. Nice way to show you have ZERO DAY integrity…not a compliment. Mexical cant hide ya 4ever…xoxoxo

Geogotz removed the “paypal donate” button after he got enough money to pay for his legal defense.
The button might re-appear if SCEA doesn’t wake up to themselves, and realise that the entire world is against them, and throwing cash at geohotz.
