I just posted the article PS3 3D gaming update confirmed for June 10.

Sony has confirmed that the next PlayStation 3 firmware update (3.20) will begin rolling out on June 10th in Japan, with an included update for 3D gaming. A 3D gaming update was already expected for a June release timeframe, but it was unconfirmed until now.

Does the update provide anything useful? MKV playback? UNPNP server fix?
OtherOs support?

Are you sure that it’s version 3.20?
Version 3.21 came under fire for disabling OtherOs support, without providing any other features or bugfixes …

Apart from 3D games (specially written games only - not all games), this 3.30 firmware updates introduces trophy sorting (by name).

Useless …

I’d like to see Matroska playback enabled, but what are the odds of Sony doing that?

Actually … good … because the new divx specification allows MKV as a container …

But from previous experience, Sonywill be a stickler for the rules and support only divx files in the mkv container … that’s what happens when you make devices, and make content for that device.

“To the eye, games running in 30 Hz will appear as 30 frames per second.”

Yes! Thank you for recycling this gem of a tautology.
