Hey all, I'm having a heck of a time trying to copy one of my games with any program whatsoever, I've tried many things...
The main problem is that I have no clue what type of copy protection the game has. I've tried using Clony XXL and YaPS... Clony only detects read errors, and YaPS doesn't detect anything at all. o.O
[EDIT] I've also tried looking through cdmediaworld.com's copy protection list to try and detect what kind of copy protection it is manually, but nothing seems to sound similar... LASERLOK is the only exception, as they say there is a hidden folder named LASERLOK on the disc where the protection exists. The hidden folder is there, but that's where the similarity ends. =\
Basically when I'm trying to read to an image, it stops at 34% and doesn't go anywhere. I'm guessing this is where the bad sectors are. I've done Blindread/Blindwrite, and that makes a somewhat decent copy, the game recognized the disc during install, but then it sat there, not installing and doing nothing.
[EDIT] [b]BlindRead[/b] detected 17 read errors, 16 were bad sectors and 1 was a gap.
The only clue I have is on the disc itself, there's a hidden folder named 'Protect' with a file named 'protect.pro' in it. There is also a file in there named 0020101.tmp.
My CD-Writer is an LG CD-RW CED-8120b
Any help would be appreciated, I tried searching for a topic but came up short.
[EDIT] Trying DiscJuggler now. It's taking a long time to read the image, but I'm hopeful. It's giving me these read errors so far:
17876 - (CDB be000001b29a000010f80000, Status: 040002, Sense: 056400) Illegal mode for this track or invalid packet size
So far there's 5 of these same exact arrors, and DiscJuggler is supplying dummy blocks to them, is that a good thing? It's taking a long time, but I definitely don't mind if it's going to work. ^^;
Thanks again ^^;
