Program to burn dvd's

I’VE ALWAYS USED DVD-SHRINK ON ANOTHER COMPUTER TO BURN DVD MOVIES. I HAVE A NEW COMPUTER WITH VISTA. I CAN’T GET DVD-SHRINK TO COPY. I GET MANY DIFFERENT ERRORS BUT MOSTLY THE DISK IS COPY PROTECTED WHICH HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. IS THERE ANOTHER SOFTWARE TO USE? MAYBE A FREE DOWNLOAD?

DVDShrink has not been updated to deal with newer protection schemes made in the last 4 or 5 years, and it will never be, since the author has abandoned the program.

You should use DVDFab HD Decrypter to decrypt and rip the movie to the hard drive. It is the free section within DVDFab and will continue to function even after the trial for the main part of DVDFab expires. You can find it here: http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm DVDFab HD Decrypter is still being updated.

Once the movie is on the hard drive, you can use DVDShrink to compress it. While you have the trial working, you could also use DVDFab for the whole process, but the trial is only 30 days I believe.

To burn to a disk, try ImgBurn, which is the updated burning engine from DVDDecrypter. ImgBurn is free to download and use. www.imgburn.com. There is even a version of DVDShrink which can use ImgBurn automatically if you like. It can be found here: http://download3.videohelp.com/DVDShrink32_w_ImgBurn.rar

By the way, in the future, please do not type with all caps. This is considered shouting, and is not well received by the members around here.

I like DVDShrink but Kerry56’s information is correct.
I see many make this mistake but DVDShrink doesn’t burn & never has as far as I know.
It will use other software automatically to burn if you have the correct version.
DVDShrink’s burners are DVD Decrypter,Nero,& ImgBurn.
Ditto with Kerry56 on the caps.

Seek & ye shall find, maybe in my signature. Ditto on the caps.

try a free programme I"M TOO DVD EXPRESS that is all i use, nothing else, i wonder how much better the paid version can be?? Cheers Betty

sorry about the caps

I tried IMG Burn and I am using Vista it locked up my system so I am not using that one any more The only one that has worked so far is DVD Movie Maker and I just downloaded a DVD program called Express Burn which does also work.

ImgBurn rocks

I have Vista & use ImgBurn regularly. No problem with ImgBurn so far.
I bet it had something to do with SPTI & the burner you have.
LIGHTNING UK! ImgBurns creator is good about answering questions both here at CDF & on the ImgBurn forum.
You won’t find much negative about this software.

here are the 2 shareware programs that have worked for me on Vista Home premium Edition which I am running.

DVD Movie Maker http://www.aone-media.com/movie_dvdmaker.exe
This program works well but it does leave a watermark in the middle of the picture. I found another one that also has a watermark but is not as big a deal. I would still buy either one of the programs. Imoo DVD makes menus for the startup screen depending on what you want but playing more than one file is a plus from home movies.

IMTOO DVD Creator http://download.imtoo.com/dvd-creator.exe
I hope this helps I wasted a lot of time burning DVD Movies that did not play on my home DVD Blu ray Player these do work and the quality is good not like the free programs. You get what you pay for on any program.
