I have tried to test the Overburn Capacity on this disc, but the test stops by 99:59:59 and tells me to test the disc at an higher valvue. (NERO CD SPEED - Overburn test)

Is there any programs that can test the overburn capacity over 100 Min ???

Prodye Data HQ - Powered by MAX disc (Type 9)

This Disc is designed for CD-RW/COMBO Drive Only.
Disc Type, Material = CD-R, Phthalocyanine
ATIP Lead-in = 97m 27s 19f
Norminal Capacity = 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f)
Disc Manufacturer maybe = Plasmon
SMART-BURN Speed Limit = 32X

I think it is the overburn bug of the Liteon’s.

Try the latest firmware of your drive and test again.

Disc Format valid for your ( and many other ) LiteOn drive(s)

With my Lity I could not test the overburn capacity of my disc’s because off this “bug”. It always went to the max. capacity of 99:59:59.
Only with latest firmware this problem is solved (Strengthen the stability of the “OVERBURN” function) as you can see on the firmware update site of Liteon http://www.liteonit.com.tw/english/english-load-firmware.htm#cd-rw

I just saw that he has a 48246K and I do not know if this Liteon has the “bug”.
But his Sony CRX-175A1 (5YSA) (Liteon LTR-24102B) does not have the bug so this drive must give the right value.

Yeah, I can even set it to 99:59:99. So what ? This IS software the limit.
Look, I must repeat it once again - your FW ( as well as jan70’s ) has nothing to do with this :

Are you using Prodye Data 80 , 90 or 99 mins cdr.

If you are using 99 mins you should reach the max value, which you have entered without errors. If you use 80 min or 90 min you should reach a point where the drive return an error.

The 99:59.59 min is a software limitation.

Test the cdr in the Sony drive too. Maybe your 47246k have the liteon overburningtest bug.

It’s some FWs that have had this bug, not the drives themselves.
So, if e.g. the Sony has a buggy FW, then getting the drives switched won’t make any difference in that matter.

Prodye 100 min / 900 MB

And the Sony drive report the same…
