Prodisc DVD-R

I think it´s B- or C-grade media from Prodisc.

And it looks there are mixed mediacodes, the disc I took a look were a PRODISCG02

Reminds me of my old Budget-discs with similar big coat, mixed codes in one cakebox

Tuffdisc 2x DVD-R / PRODISCG02

Burned with Pioneer BDR-209EBK @2x

Tuffdisc G02 BDR 2x scan BenQ erw2

Haha, yes I found some G02 too. And some S04

#183

Puh, someday I will take a coser look on the Tuffs

Easy visible or hard to see? Or have to put every disc in a drive to find out?

#184

This is hard to find out… I have G02 hub code with big letters and little letters, S03 with big black letters and stamped letters with no color and S04 stamped with no color.
This must be 5 different batches or more

#185

Puh, maybe someday I will find out

Writer: Asus SDRW-08D2S-U
Firmware A801
Media: Tuffdisc DVD-R 2x
MID: (ProdiscS03)
Burn Speed: 4x(only speed available, but S03 are normally 4x)
Software: Nero 12 Ess.
Burned 2018
Scanned 2018

Very strange, something is wrong with the writing-strategy for the first 250MB. It looks like it´s getting good if the writer have reached the 4x speed after passing the CAV-section

I like ProdiscS03, had it as “Datawrite” ca. 12 years ago and it is a stable media

Tuffdisc 2x DVD-R / ProdiscS04

Burned with Pioneer BDR-209EBK @8x

Tuffdisc S04 BDR 8x scan BenQ erw2

These could be the perfect discs if they were not so scratched.

#190

The S03 looks fantastic

To bad that Prodisc is gone long time ago

#191

Those pictures bring memories from 2003-2005. Mine had early Prodisc/TDK/CMC/Ritek’s MID codes and were usually scratched, too.

#192

This was the cleanest disc I could find^^

But yes, my old Fujifilm Prodisc S03 are very good too.

Was always a Prodisc-Fan

Even my B-grade Datawrite showed good quality, so Fuji-labeled Prodisc-media.

Still impressive which old MIDs are supported by actual Pioneer BD-writers

#197

With Prodisc I only have good experiences, too.
Fuji 4x DVD-Rs with Prodisc S03 can be incredibly good, there are some scans of them in this thread.

Not sure about this, but my old ProdiscS03 would be awesome without the PI-clusters; but almost all this media have it

These discs are a bit scratched in the middle of the recording area sometimes. And have more scratches on the edge.
The disc burned with the BenQ had a lot of scratches, so I didn’t write more than 3800MB on it.
Maybe it’s because there were only 40 discs left on the 50 pieces cake. The discs had a lot of space during the shipment and scratched each other.
