I usually backup movies since my daughter uses them in the car DVD player and sometimes they take a beating. I have a bunch of Richojpnr01 one that I am reading they are pretty good but so far I tested a couple and I had outright failures.

here is the results of one burned a few days ago:

Similar results with one I burned yesterday. Same failure.

Am I doing something wrong?

Could be bad media. Try a different batch or brand.

Richojpnr01 i consider to be as good as Taiyo Yuden 02 with the R01’s i have. That’s a really bad burn! Do you have more than 1 burner? I guess 5X scan is best for that drive?

Seems you make a quality test with a NEC 3520 drive. I think you’d be better off by trying a Transfer Rate Test with that drive. I have a 3520 but ditched it fast and i don’t remember how it did with ricohjpnr01 but as far as i remember that’s the only code i have used in all my drives and i never had a bad experience

What brand is the disc…
