Hi, total newbie here, I've just popped on to see if anyone can help me with my DVDRW in an Acer laptop which appears to have gone capput (the DVDRW not the laptop). I can't write to a CD now.
I've found a thread re drivers for the SDW-042 and have reinstalled, possibly successfully, I'm not sure. The thing holding me back now appears to be the fact that I can't seem to purge the files which MS Windows has ready to write - I tried XP's built in function before attempting some other writing software (NTI, which also fails). Each time I try to delete the 2 files there I'm told I can't as they're being accessed by another program. If there any way of forcing a delete? I've rebooted a few times but no joy there.
Can anyone help please? I don't know if this is the root of my problem but it's the only thing I can think of.
