Problems with Optiarc AD5540A on Dell Precision M90

Thank you for letting me join your forum.

I recently purchased a Dell Precision M90 laptop. After installing some software from my previous computer, I encountered a device problem with my Optiarc AD5540A driver.

The Device Manager said the following “Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)”

The Dell technical representative suggested that I booted from one of the Dell Support Drivers CD to see if it was a hardware or software program. Well the CD successfully booted, so I narrowed it to a problems with Windows Vista.

I uninstalled the driver and after Windows detected that it was missing, I got the following error after Windows tried to reinstall it :

Windows was able to successfully install device driver software, but the driver software encountered a problem when it tried to run. The problem code is 39.
