Problems with Nero 7 while Burning

Hello All:

I just joined this forum and I guess this will help me in resolving the problems Im going through.

I have Nero 7 Premium with InCD. Im unable to burn a data DVD or DVD video. While burning a DVD I select the compilation and click on burn. The burn process starts and the burn status shows “Lead In”. After that say after 5 minutes Nero gives a error burn process failed !!!

The DVD is still in blank status when I put it again the PC detects as a blank writable DVD. I dont have any problem in burning a CD.
The problem occours only with DVD.

Is this a problem with NERO??? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the s/w but the problem still persists. I have a 16X Samsung DVD Combo Drive.

Also, please suggest me the BEST DVD burning software for burning data and movie DVDs.

Thanks in advance folks !

I will appreciate all your replies and suggestions.

Do I need to select ISO or UDF while burning the data DVD? I tried on all possible speeds but no go !!

Please suggest me the how to burn a DVD without any problems.

After you post, you have approximately 30 minutes to edit your post. You do not need to post a reply.

I know you said you have Nero 7 Premium with InCD and if you’re not using InCD, most users will say DON’T. InCD creates too many problems and there are alternatives. I realize you’re probably not using it but I just threw that in.

In order to help you with your problem, more information is needed. What media are you using (important as many problems are related to the use of low quality media) and please post your error log so users can see what is going on.

When you uninstall with Nero, use their cleantool utility. http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/eng/Clean_Tools.html

Final thought: You are in the Nero forum so you are likely to attract Nero supporters although Nero certainly has lost many loyal customers, in part due to “Bloatware” and some bugs. There is no best program - whatever meets your needs is what works best. Do you want commercial or freeware?

Read through the forums and you will find many suggestions.

HELP!!!

p.s. how rude, i forgot to say hello!

SONY DVD RW DW-Q58A, NOT what it says above!!

Sure it does. Look at the device map.

@youngscot.

Your problem is most likely due to DMA not being enabled on the burner. It might be something else but you must fix this first. Try this thread .

In athe new compilation do you select DVD (not CD)?, and in burn section of this compilation page are you making sure the box for the write is check?.
