Problems with MKV muxing

I've been trying out the latest DVDFab with the mobile option to create MKV containers. I want to keep the AC3 soundtrack and get great picture for my backups of the Kids DVD that they then can play on either my Tvix or Popcorn Hour players.

When using the 5.0.8.8. version of Fab and choosing Generic profile and MKV with H264 and copy sound stream DVDFab creates a MKV file with the correct streams in. The problem I have is that the MKV can not be started on the Popcorn hour player and VLC showes some stuttering / flicking of the lover navigation bar before starting to play the streams.

If i demux the MKV with TSMuxer and then Remux it with MKVToolnix all works OK so the streams are fine but the container is broken.

Ting, Perhaps you can take a look at the muxing part of the MKV creation?

I’m not sure about Tvix, but I use the VOB streaming option for my Popcorn Hour (and PS3) with much success. The Popcorn hour can play from DVD ripped to a folder too. I would recommend the an NFS connection if available.

VOB streaming is an option. Just wanted to keep the size down a bit on the fileserver for the all the Kids movies Your link to the MKV problem seems to be the same problem I am experiencing.

I am using Allegro NFS for streaming from the Windows 2003 server and it works great. Good speed and no problems at all.
