Problems with GH20NS10

Hi to all,

I have bought the GH20NS10 drive about a week ago but i have some strange issue with it.

It arrived with EL00 frimware so I have downloaded and flashed the EL01 using MediaCodeSpeedEdit 1.1.0.17 to increase the read speed.

The problem is that regardless of the type of media when i try to read a dvd with Alcohol it start reading at ~7x but after 10-20 sec. it drop down to 4x and stay there until the end.

It's strange cause with Nero DiscSpeed the read is much higher.

Anyone know why this could be?

Using DiscSpeed, can you run a Burst Rate Test on your LG (with a burned DVD in the drive).

Also, can you tell us a little about your PC specs - motherboard, CPU etc.

Ok, made some more test…

Burst rate is 15 MB/s.

Max writing speed is 4x, if i use a higher one it start normally but after some seconds it drop down to 4x. :a

I think it has something to do with sata configuration and driver.

The Mobo is set in AHCI mode, i know many users have issue with raid, is it the same with AHCI?

Forgotten to tel my pc spec.
