Problems with copying cds and dvds On The FLY

vbimport

#1

I’m not sure if this has been covered or not but is anyone else having problems copying cds and non-encrypted dvds on the FLY using NERO…?

#2

Best to copy to HDD first lot less trouble

#3

i make alway on the fly burns with my tosh1712(nospeedhack) and the nec3500.
urnspeed is 12x on dvd without probs.

#4

Put the optical drives on separate IDE channels for best results.

#5

the best way to do ON THE FLY copying is to make sure your READ SPEED is DOUBLE of the BURN SPEED…example: dvdrom is your source make the READ SPEED 16X and your dvd burner speed 8x…

i have my dvdroms and dvd burners on the same ide controller…on occasion when i am lazy i will do ON THE FLY copying which i have no problems in burning or playback issues.

i used to be able to do it with my old nec 2500a dvd burner…although it was slow, but it did work, my dvd-rom is 16x and rips like a champ… i dont know what happened, the only thing i changed was my ide cable from 40wire to an 80wire, (brand new) and my plextor 716… hmmmm- ya on nero it wont even let me try to do it

here’s a pic,
and its an UN-Encrypted dvd and i tried at 4x

What version of nero are you using,I always do otf burns but when I upgraded to nero
6.6.0.3 I got the same error

#8

ya, 6.6.0.3, what version do you have to get it workin again

#9

TBH any other version of nero is ok,I’m using 6.6.0.0 at the moment

#10

using 6.6.0.3 and have copied DVDs on the fly…not cds yet. 2 x 716A prim & sec masters each.

#11

ah, the older versions worked!
Drpino u must just be lucky :stuck_out_tongue:

#12

Did you get 16x?
I got 8.9x max with both drive (716/1620) shared the same IDE. Too lazy to move my drives around.

#13

nope, buffer underrun comes into play because DVD+Rs are limited to max 12X read speed. avg is like 10X but burn time is usually around 7:30-8:30

i don’t mind the extra time though…
