I am having a heck of a time trying to copy a couple P90x DVD’s for my friend when she got hers on ebay she had a couple disks that would not work. I have tried so many softwares I am trying this. What i am finding is they copy fine and play in my computer DVD player fine but when i put them in my standalone DVD player they get to the point where the DVD menu would be and the screen goes black :(. I have tried to burn to DVD+R both single layer and double layer and get the same result. Is it just impossible to burn these and play them in a standalone DVD player or what am I doing wrong? Please help I have spent 2 days on this and wasted many DVD’s :(. Is it something to do with the region settings that my stand alone player is not reading these? but the odd part is it starts to read it then stops where i am assuming the copyrighted part is.
Welcome to the forum
Sorry you are having so much trouble
most playback issue can be related to the following…
1.) Low to poor quality media used for the backup, solution-> use either Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim brand media.
2.) Burning to fast, solution-> burn at half the rated speed of the media being used.
3.) Some standalone DVD players don’t support the +R media, solution-> set booktype to DVD-Rom.
However some members have trouble with the built-in burn engine used by DVDFab which the best solution in this case is to set DVDFab to use ImgBurn as the burn engine…please see guide below in my signature.
