Started this week this rpoblem, everything worked fine, furned a lot of data on my NEC 2500.
Did not use my drive 2 days and all the sudden I was not able to read DVD+R, CDs and DVD-R work alright.
First though I may have forgotten to close a session but Nero told me the disk is fine and no open session (was just a thought, I never use multisession).
When I insert the disk it appears as an empty one on the explorer window.
Rather not empty but as one with 0 bytes on it and 0 left free.
First thought was to try find a solution online, but everybody said something about some aspi.dll missing (did not change anything) or hardware failure (would not read any tracks at all)
Since I can read the track just fine, make an Iso and read from HD, my drive seemed to be okey. Did a complete fresh install (more or less because i got stupid and wanted to delete the nvidias which killed my system).
After Installing XP Pro with slipstreamed SP2, it could recognize ANY DVD again, installed Nero everything fine.
After installing all Software for 3 hours I wanted to watch a movie (divx) and again nothing, same error.
Tried the Restore Point right after installing Nero and nothing again.
Don't know what made it like that, already tried several firmwares, but that did not change a thing.
CAn't be the hardware, Computer was running all day and it worked right after installation.
I do not believe that it has anything to do with the hardware or firmware, it looks like the OS can't recognize DVD+ anymore.
Only thing I could imagine is, that some kind of automatic update got installed, but then again it should also work at restore point right after installing XP.
HAs anybody experienced the same Problem ?!
