What media are you using? Nero’s CD-DVD Speed , disc info will tell us that.

Why choose 2.4x as the burn speed? Was that all that was offered by Nero? If it was then the burners firmware doesn’t recognise the media & who knows just how it’ll burn.

#3

yes it is all that nero offered. it has been working before with this media but then i had to reinstall windows. i will do the cd dvd speeed in abot 30 mins. just gotta pop out.

#4

the attachment is my dvd/cd nero speed thing.

#5

Not sure what version that is but you need to select the disc info tab and post the image it displays.
Get the latest version from here .

#6

Manufacturer : 001
Code : -
Disc Type : DVD+R
Usage : General
Recording Layer : -
Recording Speed : 2.5 X

Overburn Capacity : -

#7

Is this from the latest version of CD Speed that I pointed you to?

#8

oh yes

#9

I think the basic problem is that the media you have is of a lesser quality - putting it kindly.

You’d probably be best off to get some quality media but it’s hard to know what would be best. The latest 16x media is unlikely to be supported by your burner so I’m wondering if 8x might be better matched.

A good place to buy would be SVP .
Item code 3250 for -R might be OK & for +R code 3350.

It’s possible to flash your drive to a ND3500 which would give you more choice. The hardware for these 2 is identical , just different firmware. Look here .

Doing this would mean that more 16x media would be compatible.

#10

this seems all well but i have been using theese discs for a while now … about 2 years. and since i have reinstalled windows it has a problem. wtf. i will upgrade if i have to or buy new discs if have to but i have about 10 ( discs ) sitting in front of me. not to sure what to do with them.
