Problems burning with benq 1620

When i trei to burn dvd-r i get the eror writing mesage
Software is nero7 and firmware is B7w9
If nay more info is needed please tell me.

Which firmware and media are you using? I had a DW-1620 made in China with the same behavior.

firmware is b7w9,and i used 3 types of media:traxdata dvd-r 8x, benq dvd-r 16x and some generic dvd-r 8x.
The strange thing is that cds are burned normally
edit its OEM drive btw

Here is the eror log from nero

Edit post at once to remove seriel number.

Update Nero to latest 7.0.1.4

Use DVDIdentifier to retieve mediacode for each media and post result.

My Benq 1620 are very picky about dvd-r. Media with code FUJIFILM03 could not be burned at all.

Disc Manufacturer: RITEKG - 05

Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)

It’s medium (media) error. It seems that your drive doesn’t like your RITEKG05. Try another media, preferably higher quality such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.

But it burned normal on the same brand before.
Also on the benq medias
This cam just out the sky
EDIT: i did burn before on some verbatim dvd-r an not one problem or something, but as i sad i alsoe burned on traxdata witn no probs
Could it be that the lens is dying???

With same firmware revision? Have you tried to burn with Nero Cd-Dvd Speed (create data disc)? Try it and post the burn graph.

The previous version i think was b7v9 and it was flashed with windwflash(wich i cant find nowhere to dload) and it was cvt file. It burned normaly on that version, and then the trouble started. Last night i flashed the curent firmware and no change. Today i will buy some difrent type of medias and willl post results

Just bought some other media
Dvd identifier says:

Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:TYG02]

Disc & Book Type : [DVD-R] - [DVD-R]
Manufacturer Name : [Taiyo Yuden Co. Ltd.]
Manufacturer ID : [TYG02]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,298,496 Sectors = 4.71 GB (4.38 GiB)]

[ DVD Identifier V4.2.0 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]

But the problem is stil here
And i cant get the cd-dvd speed to create data disk. Evrything is grayed out :a

nero 7 might not like your computer.
Download dvd decrypter and try to burn an iso with it!!
Also I can see that you are using the aspi layer 4.71. If your computer is an NVIDIA based chipset, that also can be the problem.
If you are using an NVIDIA based computer use killaspi to get rid of your aspi layer.

I have via k8t890 chipset but before i had nforce4 and didnt reinstall winodws. But on the nforce chipset i had the same problems(sometimes couldnt burn cd)
Tried burning with burn4free same problem.
Will try dvd decrypter but im roning out of medias and its chrisma eve so everything is closed :frowning:

WOHOHO
Tnx bichonn
Just burn alcohol image with dvd decrypter and its SUCCCES
Althgouh it took me 18minutes to burn at 4x its done
So im waiting for some other suggestions since the problem is obviusly software related and not hardware

kill your aspilayer with killaspi, get the latest via hyperion!!!
Actually don’t get the latest Via hyperion cause it is known for having AGP troubles. Get instead hyprion 5.04 which has an improved ide driver.
uninstall your via drivers and reinstall this one!

No change.
will try clean install and post info
Thnx everybody for help and Mary christmas

Replying as promised.
It worked fine after clean install, bzt 2 days ago it died for good.
The dors are just opening and closing, cant read cd/dvd.Its not even a year old and has burned mabe 50discs si i got only to say
Newer again benq :a
