When I try to connect to the WinMX peer network, everything goes fine, but when I select a file to download the process never starts. I keep getting the “Waiting for network reply” status until the timeout comes and the connection is closed. I use ZoneAlarm as firewall, but disabling it doesn’t change the situation.
In addition, when a download goes timeout and I try to restart it, if I push the “Find Sources” button I get lots of sources (like 650-700) on a file that before the timeout had only 50-60. Download does not start even in this case. If it starts, it lasts only some seconds and the speeds are less than 1 kb/sec.
By doing a netstat in the command prompt, I can view lots of connection at “ESTABLISHED”, “TIME_WAIT” status and very few at “SYN_SENT” or “FIN_WAIT_2” status.
