As you can see, they should be x8, but they’re only showing up as x2.4 for some reason. Granted I did buy them a while ago, and they are still working fine at x2.4 in the xbox, but I was wondering what would cause this?
I am on the most recent firmware 1.29 now, and the x8 Verbatims I have will burn at x8 as well.

@ slyman2k4,

Welcome to the Forum.

It has been passed NUMERIOUS times throughout the Forum that the only DL Media that consistently produces quality error free results is Verbatim DL MKM001/MKM003 Mitsubishis Kagaku Media. ALL other DL Media is considered suspect and should be avoided (not used).

Pioneer has extensively tested their Pioneer DVR-111D v1.29 Firmware and although your (Traxdata x8 DVD+R DL) Media MID DVD+R DL RITEK D03 is rated at 8x speed evidently their test revealed that this particular Media MID could not effectively support quality burning results at 8x speed and limited Pioneer DVR-111D v1.29 Firmware to 2.4x speed for this particular Media MID.

Although it might appear that your Media MID DVD+R DL RITEK D03 is ‘working fine’ you should perform Disc Quality Scans of your Burned Media MID DVD+R DL RITEK D03 to ensure that these Disk are in fact acceptable Disc Quality Scans. Ritek manufactured Media has a well-documented history of Reflectivity Degradation (referred to as DVD ROT) problems.
