Hey all! I recently had a problem with my DVD recorder. I tried to write data on 3 RiDisk DVDs and except that 2 of the 3 were corrupted, all 3 (as the one that didn’t had any problem) were written with 3 or 4 “rings” and not with a “clear” surface. As always I had all the open programs closed and the PC was booted just about 5’ before I started writting. Could be a problem with the concrete DVD cake or should I start to worry? Thanks!
You can check your burn results with Kprobe 2.5.1 BLER scans(scanned at 4x scan speed the forum standard for comparison). You can read Interpreting PI/PO error scans to find out what these graphs mean. PI/PO is now referred to as PI/PIF. Roughly, PImax<280; PIFmax<4. Attaching disc quality scans to your post of the offending discs will help us help you.
However your drive is a bit old…I wouldn’t worry, I would rejoice as there are many good fast burners available now, you might have a good excuse to get on…and they are cheap!
