[qanda]This thread is about the Samsung SH-S202J / TS-H652J. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Hi all,
I have a Samsung SH-S202J burner. I am using NERO 7. I am able to read and write DVDs fine. I also am able to read CDs fine. However, I seem to be experiencing some difficulty burning CDs. I have read a number of posts in this forum (there are SO many I could not read them all) with out seeing a specific reference to my problem. It seems that this should be a reasonably good drive (I am looking forward to trying out CodeKing's "tweaker" in the future).
This is what I have tried so far:
1) Phillips 52x CD-R. Cannot test disk speed. Does not burn.
2) Maxell Music ?x CD-R. Cannot test disk speed. Does not burn.
3) Memorex CD-RW 4x. Cannot test disk speed. Does not burn.
4) LG CD-RW 10x. Cannot test disk speed. Does not burn.
Is it possible that the CD burn laser is bad?
Should I try some other "high quality" media?
Is it possible that my IDE cable is bad?
If it would help, I could post the NERO logs or images of the error messages. If any system configuration information would be useful, please let me know.
I have tested these disks in other burners (LG) and they seem to be fine.
I get the message:
NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION (000000)
When I try to create disk (in the speed test menu.)
And the message;
POWER ON, RESET, OR BUS DEVICE RESET OCCORED (062900)
When I try to benchmark a disk.
Any help would be much appreciated.
P.S. If this was answered elsewhere else, be kind, just point me in the right direction.
