Problem with my 52246s

It plays cds but when I try to burn anything I get this error during lead in
“Write Pregap Area Error”

I have tried Alchohol 120% and Nero and still cant burn I have also tried different media, the burner used to work what could have happened?

I have the most up to date firmware and Windows XP.

Sounds like bad media, or if your writing in track at once, the pre gap area may be full.
