Problem with LiteOn SOHW-1213S

I recently upgraded the firmware using this file: 1653S.CS0P.patched-cf-mcled.exe

Now the drive refuses to recognize any kind of blank DVD media, it does however recognize previously burned DVDs.

wtf??? This has been busting my balls for a week now.

What have you tried so far?

Ok, SmartBurn recognizes the DVD-R:

Drive Type = DVD DUAL
Disc Type = DVD-R (Single Layer)
Disc MID = 53 4B 43 20 43 6F (SKC Co)
Disc TID = 2E 2C 4C 74 64 2E (.,Ltd.)
Nominal Capacity = 4.38GB
Manufacturer Maybe = SKC Co., Ltd.
SMART-BURN Speed Limit = 12.0X (Write)

But I still can’t burn the DVD, and the drive is reported as “CD-Drive F:” in windows explorer, when I try to access it :

“F:/ is not accessible, incorrect function”

SKC & Samsung DVDs so far…(blank), it ain’t workin at all, I hear the drive spinning, then slowing down, then spinning again…then the LED goes out…

edit: CD-Rs are also recognized, same problem, can’t write, drive LED goes out, reported as “CD Drive” when any blank media is inserted.

Drive Type = DVD DUAL
Disc Type = CDR
Material = Phthalocyanine
Lead In = 97:27:58
Lead Out = 79:59:74
Nominal Capacity = 702.83MB
Manufacturer Maybe = Mitsui Chemicals, Inc.
SMART-BURN Speed Limit = 24X (Write)
