Goodday

I have this drive NEC Optiarc DVD RW AD-7240S
i already did do the last version by liggy on my drive
Liggy’s AD-7240S Bitsetting Firmware 1.02
but i now keep getting this fault at a reboot or start from my bios
“SATA 2 Drive - ATAPI incompatible”
i already did a update on bios , switch from ACHI to RAID and IDE notting works It keeps giving the same fault
BUT when i put back the original firmware the fault is gone ??

well i hope its a little mistake in the firmware upgrade made by liggy
If not then i hope someone can tell me how to fix it

hardware attached is

Mainboard : AT3N7A-I ( ion )
Driver :Optiarc DVD RW AD-7240S
HDD : WD 500GB SATA2 Greenchoice
4 GB Kingston PC6400 CL6

Liggy doesn’t make mistakes. :disagree:

It’s something on your end.

I often do. :iagree:

But I never mess with the drive’s SATA interface code and this firmware is out for quite a long time. Probably many other people use it without problems. So I have to agree with Negritude that it’s probably something on your end.

Hmm strange how can it be that the original firmware doesn’t give me this fault ??
And if its my fault like you say what can it be ?
IDE ACHI or SATA they all give me the same fault
Switching the SATA cable also makes no difference
even the last original firmware 1.03 from October works just fine
just not yours ( hate to say it )

I’ve got no idea at the moment what’s wrong. But I’m currently working on patches for the 1.03 firmwares. Maybe you can test that one, once it’s out - hopefully within the next week
