Problem with layer break positioning

Hello everyone. I am having some problems with the layer break not being placed at the right spot. This problem has happened on a few dvd + R DL’s. Here is one of my burn logs. I am using DVDFab Platinum to rip and burn. Can you manually position the layer break, and if so how? Thanks in advance.

I think some people are gonna tell you to switch your media, and use Verbatim DVD+R DL. If you have the originals disc, you can use Platinum’s clone feature and it will preserve the original layer break.

I am not sure if Platinum allows you to manually set the layer break.

BoSox2882’s advice is spot on. Not trying to beat you up here, but yes, ppl will tell you to change media. D01’s are marginal for sure. Ritek D00 are better, but I still would not recommend buying them.
I know you can get some decent burns out of them (I’ve had some decent burns on the D00’s), but Verbatim +R DL is still the only widely recommended DL media.

There is no way to manually set the LB with platinum, alter it yes, but not position it. Img will afford more flexibility with respect to the LB.

As BoSox suggested, try clone mode. The LB will be preserved regardless of other settings.
When you can, pick up some verbs.
Just an FYI, take a look here for info about blank media.

Use Imgburn to burn and follow this guide. And yes, change your media to Verbatims +R DL.

If you want to keep the Layer Break then open “Common Settings”–>“Protection” and remove the check mark in the box next to Remove Layer Break

Hi Stone1980,

For best result of copying DL, you should use “Clone” feature, which will preserve the original layer break position.

Thanks soo much everyone  I did the clone feature as you all suggested and it worked out great. I have placed an order on some of those Verbatims as you guys mentioned, I gotta listen to the pro’s  I have been having a terrible time with the sony’s, done wasted about 10 of them outa 50. Thanks for that link about blank media maineman. Thanks also to you linx05 for mentioning the Imgburn. Thanks to all of you again for helping a newbie out  .

You are very welcome

No problem.
