Problem with 411s and Sony NS700P

Hey everyone,

I backuped a dvd in DVD+r and DVD-R.
the dvd-r format plays fine in a Apex 1200, but I cant get it to play in my sony NS700P. Any Help?

The 411s has the latest firmware and the media is Ricoh for the + and CMC for the - format

I meant no video but I can hear sound coming from the television.

You’re not the first person to report that that sony does not play recordables. If you’re certain that the format on the DVD’s is correct, then all you can do is try different media.

Sony DVP-NS700P…?

Personaly I dont think this DVD player supports the DVD-R format.
But, I may be wrong…

Thank you. Of the 2, I would recommend the Maxell (Hitachi-Maxell), which is made in Japan. You can also find TDK, (made in Japan) this is the same thing. The 411S will burn either one very well, but the Maxell is best. (2x only, the Ritek is 4x)

    How are you duplicating the dvds?
    I am using Dvdshrink than burning onto a dvd.

  2. Where is a good place to buy the 2 types of suggested media?
    I tried Bestbuy but the TDK were not manufactured in Japan.
    Anyone know of a good online place?

At Best Buy, look for Fuji DVD-R 4x rated, made in Japan. It will be in jewel-case 10-packs. this is TY media, and is by far the best stuff you can buy. I find the Maxell and TDK DVD-R at Walgreens.
