Hi, I'm a Newbie!!!!!! maybe someone can help me out!
I just sold my Sony cd mavica digital camera on ebay so I could purchase a newer camera that used a sd card. ( I have slots on my computer and printer). When I bought the camera we had a dell computer and when I popped the dics in the dell it had no problem reading them. We no longer have the dell and we now have a emachine. When I tried to read my sony disc my cd drive says there is nothing on them. I sold the camera not realizing that I Should have finalized the disc so they could be read on my new computer (with the dell i never had to). My brother has a dell so I recently took all my discs to his house transfferd all my pictures to his computer, formatted my Maxell CD-Rs and burn a new disc with all my pictures on them. I thought that by formatting the disc I could view the pictures on my computer. I can't there is nothing on my disc I just burned, but on my brothers dell everything is there. I used Maxell CD-r discs and I checked my emachine to make sure it read +/- disc. THere has got to be a way to figure this out, otherwise I'll have to send my discs to the guy I sold my camera to and hopefully he will finalize for me. My overall questions is do you have to format a disc everytime you burn something. I have nero and I can only format CD-RW, with my borthers dell he has Roxio and I formatted my CD-R. Another question is so what if I made a back up on a cd or a dvd and did not format it, thought everything was great, computer crashed and when I try to read on another computer it dosen't read it becuase that is not the drive that burned it. This doesn't seem right. I always thought you burned a disc, drag n drop whatever and you could veiw it on another computer. I doesn't seem like people have trouble with this. Can someone help I getting confused with this? Thanks so much.
