You certainly seem to be freaking out :stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s see, this is the third panic post in the last few days

Generally, most “problems” are because of wrong settings or enabling the wrong options. If you remember what you had changed, it’s easy enough to get back to where you were.

BTW, on the fly copying is better avoided. If you do have the time, it might be better to copy the CD contents to HDD or create an image and then burn to CD from the HDD.

looking forward to your next post :stuck_out_tongue:

  • its genraly better for protection cd`s doing i that way !!

The Lite-On starts writing at a higher speed than the Pioneer is starting reading at.

Why not look into my FAQ?

For on the fly copying, try to use a reader that has a higher rating than the writer. In your case, your Liteon can write at 40x. Your DVD reads at 40x. However, do remember that the two 40x’s are not precisely 40x. They may vary a few percentage points about 40x i.e. the burner may actually be writing at 42.3x and the DVD may be reading at 38.4x (Just an example).

Reg. the rpm not being fast enough at the start of the burn process - in general, DVD drives take a longer time to recognise any disc inserted. The writer would in all probability taking a lesser time (spin up time etc). Perhaps that might be causing the problem?

It might be best if you could have at least a 52x CD drive if you still want to do copying on the fly.

Yeah guys i understand my pioneer is no way as as fast as my liteon 48125W yes i over clocked hehe

but i no it dont do it at 48 i did a 40x test and the rpm on the burner is starting at 20x avrage and the pioneer is starting at 8x avrage !!

thats a big advantige the burner has the lead lol

eny way oc ill cheak your FAQ out

Got some good data safes 7 die Ritek J

with a LTR-48125W you need at least a 48X reader to copy on the fly at all speeds higher than 20X.

This is becuase it always starts writing at 21-22X…and your reader is not fast enough to start reading at this speed.

And remember that music(DA)/other mode 2 discs and such is normally read at an even lower speed.

Here I name two good and fast readers:

Lite-On LTD-163(D) DVD-ROM
Asus DVD E616 DVD-ROM

This one is a bit slower at reading music and such but also worth a look:

Toshiba SD-M1612 DVD-ROM

Yes I recommend DVD-ROM’s or the new TEAC 52X CD-ROM may be good but is not in stores yet.

Most CD-ROM’s reads music slow and is generally bad readers(for use with clonecd at least).

Virus2K,

I can attest to the Liteon LTD 163. Just bought that and a 40125s burner and even with both on the same IDE channel I am able to burn on the fly with no errors or Burn proof having to be activated. Liteon in my opion is the best bang for the buck!!!

#14

ok mate i made my mand up hehe

this

LITEON : 52x CD ROM retail kit £22.00

===========================================

i need to wate for oc freak to post back to my 2nd last post in this thread

your post and mine mind is leaning towards the dvdrom 163 :stuck_out_tongue:

#16

Well my burner is not oc’ed to 48x just a plain 40125s with the zsoj firmware but I LOVE IT!!!

#17

oc freak mate where are you ?

if enyone can pick a very good dvd play back fast as hell dvdrom your the guy i need

please help becuse im ordering it tonight !!

#18

To be honest I have no experience with that Lite-On CD-ROM.

But as said 48X reading may be enough for on the fly copying, especially if the program you use makes a buffer on the harddrive before starting to write.

I’m happy with both the asus E616 and Lite-On LTD-163D that I’ve.

#19

The 48x Lite-on CD-ROM can definitely put any Liteon burner to shame. The noise it makes would make the burner noise sound like a tiny squeak.

Use them together and you have a Liteon “Orchestra”!!!

#20

hehe tnx guys for your impute !!!

I ORDERED… the

LITEON 16xDVD 16x48x DVD ROM Inc Power DVD IDE - Retail :

My pionner dvd116 16x 40x was very fussy about media
