Problem burning with DVR-107D

#1

Today I tried to burn an image and it just won’t burn. I tried around 5 blanks and all turned out to be failures. Two of my logs are attached. I used ImgTool to make the .iso and ImgBurn to burn. Both have worked fine in the past until today. And I have successfully burned with the same spindle just a week ago. I’m baffled by the constant errors. I hope my drive isn’t gone since it only went through ~300 burns.

I just don’t get what’s wrong. Any help?

Try with other media.

Tired of wasting DVD+Rs, I returned to my old batch of DVD+RWs that I long neglected some time ago. Surprisingly, I get a success. Immediately afterwards I tried again the Ritek R03 and still the same error. What’s the meaning of this? I even thought INFODISC is worse than RITEK.

Yes, kind of. RW media with infodisc ID should be avoided, really.
What brand is it, what label?

Is ASPI/ASAPI selected in the prefs? I would try it and perform some tests using Nero CD DVD Speed.

#5

My RW media is Memorex. I bought it ages ago when I first got my DVD burner.

I don’t know how to tell if ASPI is selected, though I think it is looking back at an old Nero log. But I still don’t know how to check.

I bought a spindle of TY DVD+R 8x from Rima.com and they work. However burning at 8x seems to yield bad scans near the end of the disc. I made a thread here to examine what’s going on.

A scan of the same batch of RITEKs seemed to have okay results (a scan of a DVD I was able to burn before my drive decided not to burn RITEKs anymore). I burnt this at 4x.

#6

Looks good, but the question is if the 107 is a reliable scanner with results comparable to reliable scanner drives or not…
